Controls whether Students can submit an initial Internship/Thesis application themselves. Internship / Thesis Settings > Internship / Thesis Settings > Internships And Theses > Internship Settings. The effect is visible in the Student's Internship/Thesis application screen: whether the Apply option is available to the Student at all.
