This setting is one input slot in a set of settings that feed an institute-specific custom annual result calculation. Marking Period 2 is the second of three such period slots: choosing a Marking Period here tells Step 2 of the custom script to always pull mark data scoped to that specific period, regardless of which period is otherwise active elsewhere in the system.
