This setting is one input slot in a set of settings that feed an institute-specific custom annual result calculation. Some institutes need an annual marking formula that the standard Classter configuration cannot express, so Classter's implementation team writes a custom SQL script for that institute and exposes the script's inputs as settings on the Annual Results tab instead of hard-coding them.
