If the Student has a Subject status of Attendance Semi-Exempt (marked Red) then the default Presence Category is

This setting lets you choose the Presence Category that Classter pre-fills by default whenever a student is marked present for a subject in which their Subject Status entry has the "Attendance Exclusion" property set to "Attendance Semi-Exemption (Student Is In List But Marked Red)". Students in this state are also highlighted in red in the attendance-taking grid.
