Location: Main Settings > General Settings > HR Management, in the Teacher Costs Management group.
What This Setting Does
This setting selects which Assessment Types qualify for automatic payable hours under the 1st Assessment Marker and 2nd Assessment Marker Work Types. Only exams whose Assessment Type is selected here will generate payable hours for the marking _Teacher_ or the mark verifier.
Where It Is Used
- Teacher > Teachers list > Manage Teacher Payable Hours, whenever a payable hours calculation is run and marking or mark verification work is involved.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Only exams whose Assessment Type is selected in this list can generate a 1st Assessment Marker or 2nd Assessment Marker payable entry.
- 1st Assessment Marker entries are generated for the _Teacher_ who marked the exam.
- 2nd Assessment Marker entries are generated for the mark verifier or reviewer, and only when the mark verification workflow is also enabled for the relevant exams.
- If no Assessment Type is selected, no payable hours are generated for either of these two Work Types, no matter how the other Teacher Costs Management settings are configured.
Examples
Alpha Institute selects Final Exam and Mid-Term Exam as qualifying Assessment Types. When _Teacher_ Omar H. marks 30 Final Exam papers, Classter creates a 1st Assessment Marker payable entry for that exam. Quiz assessments are not selected, so marking quizzes never generates payable hours.
Beta College also enables mark verification and selects Final Exam here. When _Teacher_ Lina O. reviews the marks _Teacher_ Omar H. gave on a Final Exam, Classter creates a 2nd Assessment Marker payable entry for Lina in addition to Omar’s 1st Assessment Marker entry.
When to Use
This is a selection list rather than an on/off switch. Select the Assessment Types for which marking and mark verification should be paid, and leave out any Assessment Types that should never generate payable hours for these two Work Types.
Notes
- Prerequisites: Enable Teacher Payable Hours Management (Enable_Teacher_Payment_Management in HR Management > Teacher Costs Management) must be enabled. For 2nd Assessment Marker entries, the mark verification workflow must also be enabled for the relevant exams.
