Decimals in Numeric Marking

Updated on May 17, 2022

In Classter, marking can be either numeric or descriptive. In numeric marking, there is a number of settings that can be configured by the user.

Tip: If you need to create a marking scale for one or more subjects, check out this FAQ.

The number of decimals that appear in numeric marking depends on which settings has the user-activated during marking configuration.

Specifically,

  • If the setting “Numerical term marking form: Marking criteria columns marked using general academic decimals setting” is on, then the number of decimals is specified in the setting “Academic Decimals Setting”
  • If the setting “Numerical term marking form: Marking criteria columns marked using general academic decimals setting” is off, then:
  • If the setting “Academic Decimals Setting” is specified, then this will be the number of decimals in numeric marking.
  • If the setting “Academic Decimals Setting” is not specified, then the number of decimals in numeric marking is added automatically.

To track these settings in Classter platform, from the configuration menu go to Academic Settings → Marking Settings → General Settings. (Figure 1)

In the next window, click on the Marking tab, where these two settings are located. (Figure 2)
