This feature allows teachers to flag a student’s subject as “Incomplete” or “Postponed” directly from the Gradebook. Flagged subjects are excluded from grade calculations and annual results, ensuring they do not impact overall evaluations. Employees (administrators) can later review and update the status.
How It Works
Enabling the Setting
To activate this feature, administrators must enable the relevant option in the system settings:
- Navigate to: Marking Settings > General Settings > Marking > Gradebook [Term Marks] Settings.
- Enable the option “Allow end users to force change Subject’s enrollment status to incomplete/postponed status.”
Once enabled, an additional column labeled “Postponed/Incomplete” will appear in the Gradebook, providing teachers with the ability to flag subjects.
Creating the New “Postponed/Incomplete” Status
A new status, “Postponed/Incomplete,” must be added to the system. This status is used to categorize flagged subjects and ensure they are excluded from calculations. The default value for this status is set to inactive (off) until explicitly flagged by teachers.
Gradebook Functionality
In the Gradebook, teachers will find the “Postponed/Incomplete” column with a toggle switch for each student’s subject:
- Default State: Switch is set to “Off” (subject is active and included in calculations).
- Postponed/Incomplete State: Teachers toggle the switch to “On,” flagging the subject as incomplete or postponed.
Flagged subjects are:
- Excluded from grade and mark calculations.
- Not included in annual results processes for both K-12 and college levels.
The marking period remains open for all subjects, including those flagged as “Postponed/Incomplete,” allowing teachers and employees to make updates as needed.
Role of Employees
Employees can review flagged subjects at any time and update their status to “Complete” when the issue is resolved. Once updated, the subject is re-enrolled in grade calculations and annual results. However, past results are not recalculated unless explicitly triggered by employees.
