Overview
Enabled Payment Gateways/Enabled_Payment_Gateways is located in Financial Settings > General Settings > e-Payments > Quick Online Payments [Open Form]. It controls which payment gateways can be used on the quick online payment (open form) link.
What This Setting Does
This setting lets the institution select which online payment gateway(s) or providers are available to payers using the public quick payment link. Payers using the quick payment form will only be able to choose from the gateways selected here.
Where It Is Used
This setting affects backend processing that prepares the public quick payment form, determining which payment gateway choices are made available to a payer at the point of paying, rather than being displayed or read on a portal screen itself.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is a multi-select setting, allowing more than one gateway to be enabled at the same time.
- This setting selects which online payment type(s) will be available to the end user, for example specific card processors or local payment providers.
- If no gateway is selected, payers are not able to complete a payment through the quick payment link.
- This setting is independent from the gateway configuration used for the regular authenticated portal, since it specifically governs the open-form quick payment channel.
Example(s)
School Alfa accepts 3 different payment providers, Gateway A, Gateway B, and Gateway C, on its main portal, but wants to keep the public quick payment link simpler by offering only one of them. The administrator selects just Gateway B in Enabled Payment Gateways for the quick payment form, so a parent paying a $250 fee through the public link only ever sees Gateway B as a payment option, while the other 2 gateways remain available on the regular portal.
When to Use
Use this setting whenever the quick online payments feature is active and the institution needs to control or limit which payment gateways payers can choose from on the public payment link. Review it whenever new gateways are added or existing ones are retired.
