Overview

Payment Account/OP_Payment_Account_Quick_Payment_Link is located in Financial Settings > General Settings > e-Payments > Quick Online Payments [Open Form]. It defines the default financial account to which payments made through the quick online payment link are recorded.

What This Setting Does

This setting lets the institution choose which payment account should be automatically used and preselected whenever a payment is made through the public quick payment link, so that transactions from this channel are consistently recorded to the correct account.

Where It Is Used

This setting affects only the automatic, behind-the-scenes recording of transactions created from payments completed through the public Quick Online Payments link.

• This setting is not shown or chosen on any screen by a payer; it only determines, in the background, which financial account a resulting transaction is posted to once a quick payment is completed.

Business Logic / Behavior

• This is a dropdown (single-select) setting listing available payment accounts.
• In case of an automated transaction creation, this defines the preselected/default payment account.
• This account applies specifically to transactions created through the quick payment link, separately from the payment account used for regular portal payments.

Example(s)

A College keeps a separate bank account, the Quick Payments Clearing Account, specifically for quick, open-form payments collected from the general public. The administrator sets Payment Account for the quick payment link to that dedicated account, so when a visitor pays a $90 fee through the public link, the resulting transaction is automatically posted to the Quick Payments Clearing Account rather than the Main Operating Account used for regular portal payments.

When to Use

Use this setting whenever the quick online payments feature is enabled and the institution wants payments collected through that channel to be automatically posted to a specific financial account, without staff needing to manually assign it afterward.

K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
