Overview
The CRM Categories For Financial Overview List setting (Crm_Categories_For_Financial_Overview_List) is located in Financial Settings > General Settings > General Financial Parameters, under the Additional Settings sub-group.
What This Setting Does
This setting lets an institution choose which CRM (Customer Relationship Management) categories should be pulled into the financial overview list. CRM entries are typically records of interactions, opportunities, or activities related to a prospective or existing _Student_. Selecting categories here allows those related CRM records to be included and visible alongside financial data in the financial overview area.
Where It Is Used
This setting affects the following screens, where staff review billing, arrangement, and payment information alongside related CRM activity.
- Main Menu > Management > Financial > Financial Overview – the selected CRM categories determine which related CRM entries are pulled into this screen’s data.
- Main Menu > Management > Financial > Installment Analysis (Vertical View) – the same selected CRM categories are also fetched and made available here alongside installment data.
- Main Menu > Configuration > Main Settings > CRM Settings > CRM Categories – this is where CRM categories themselves are created and managed before they can be selected in this setting.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is a multi-select setting, allowing an administrator to pick one or more existing CRM categories from the list configured in the institution.
- At least one category must be selected for CRM entries to appear in the financial overview list at all.
- If no category is selected, the financial overview list will not display any CRM-related entries.
- Only entries belonging to the selected categories are shown; entries in other CRM categories remain excluded from this particular view.
Example(s)
Example Academy uses CRM categories to track “Enrollment Follow-up” and “Payment Plan Requests” for its _Students_, with 18 open “Enrollment Follow-up” entries and 7 open “Payment Plan Requests” entries logged this month. An administrator named Alex selects both categories in this setting. Afterward, when Alex opens the financial overview list for a _Student_ named Sam, who has one open “Payment Plan Requests” entry dated June 2 requesting to split a $450 installment into 3 payments, that entry appears alongside Sam’s $450 outstanding balance, instead of Alex having to switch to a separate CRM screen to find it.
When to Use
Use this setting when staff reviewing the financial overview list would benefit from seeing related CRM activity (such as notes about payment arrangements or financial discussions) without having to switch to a separate CRM screen. If the institution does not use CRM categories for financial-related interactions, or prefers to keep the financial overview list focused strictly on billing data, this setting can be left empty.
Notes
Prerequisite: at least one CRM category must already exist in the system before it can be selected here.

This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
