In Installment Analysis Vertical View Merge Installment Data By Monthly Pay Date

Updated on July 7, 2026

1 min to read

Overview

The In Installment Analysis (Vertical View), Merge Installment Data By Monthly Pay Date setting (In_Installment_Analysis_Vertical_View_Merge_Installment_Data_By_Monthly_Pay_Date) is located in Financial Settings > General Settings > General Financial Parameters, under the Additional Settings sub-group.

What This Setting Does

Installment Analysis is a financial screen used to review installment payments across _Students_ over time. This setting changes the behavior of its Vertical View, so that installments are grouped and combined together based on the month in which they are due to be paid, rather than being listed individually. This gives staff a monthly summary view instead of a detailed per-installment breakdown.

Where It Is Used

This setting affects the following screen, used by finance staff to review and analyze installment payment schedules.

  • Main Menu > Management > Financial > Installment Analysis (Vertical View) – this setting merges and groups the installment data shown here by monthly pay date, and adjusts the available filters accordingly.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • This is an on/off checkbox setting.
  • When enabled, the Vertical View of Installment Analysis groups and merges installment data by monthly pay date, and adjusts the available filters accordingly.
  • When disabled (the default), installments are shown using the platform’s standard, non-merged view.
  • This behavior applies specifically to the Vertical View of Installment Analysis, not to other views or reports of installment data.

Example(s)

At Example Academy, a _Student_ named Sam has three separate installments due in March: $200 due March 5, $150 due March 15, and $100 due March 25, totaling $450 for the month. An administrator named Alex enables this setting. Afterward, when a staff member named Jane opens the Vertical View in Installment Analysis, those three March installments are merged into a single row showing $450 due for March, instead of three separate rows of $200, $150, and $100, making it much faster for Jane to see that $450 is expected to be collected that month rather than scanning three individual installment rows.

When to Use

When to Enable

Enable this setting when finance staff prefer a higher-level, month-by-month summary of installment amounts in the Vertical View, which can simplify monthly cash flow planning and reporting.

When to Disable

Disable this setting (the default) when staff need to see and filter individual installments separately in the Vertical View, for example to track specific due dates or investigate a particular installment in detail.

Notes

Related settings: Financial_Overview_Calculate_totals_in_quick_view_only_for_arrangements_with_educational_programs_that_have_the_following_statuses (Financial Settings > General Settings > General Financial Parameters > Additional Settings); MassBilling_Identification_Number_Selection (Financial Settings > General Settings > General Financial Parameters > Additional Settings).

This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
