Location: Main Settings > General Settings > HR Management, in the Teacher Costs Management group.
What This Setting Does
This setting defines how many minutes count as one payable hour when Classter turns a _Teacher_’s worked minutes into payable hours, for any Work Type that does not have its own override configured.
Where It Is Used
- Teacher > Teachers list > Manage Teacher Payable Hours, whenever a payable hours calculation is run for one or more teachers.
Business Logic / Behavior
- The default value is 60, meaning 60 worked minutes are treated as one payable hour.
- If a _Teacher_’s Check-In and Check-Out records provide the actual worked minutes for an entry, Classter uses that minute value, divided by this setting, to work out the payable hours.
- If a Work Type has its own minutes-per-hour value configured in Enable Teacher costs management for the following working types, that value is used instead of this general setting for that Work Type only.
Examples
Alpha Institute sets this value to 50 instead of the default 60. A _Teacher_ who logs 200 minutes of general duties through Check-In and Check-Out is credited 4 payable hours (200 divided by 50), instead of 3.33 hours that the default 60-minute rule would have produced.
Beta College keeps the default value of 60. A _Teacher_ who works exactly 120 minutes on a general task is credited exactly 2 payable hours.
When to Use
This is a numeric configuration rather than an on/off switch. Adjust it whenever the institution’s standard definition of a payable hour differs from a straight 60-minute hour.

- Prerequisites: Enable Teacher Payable Hours Management (Enable_Teacher_Payment_Management in HR Management > Teacher Costs Management) must be enabled.
