Overview
The ‘Given day numbers of the month allowed only’ setting (Setting ID: Given_Day_Numbers_of_the_month_allowed_only) is located in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters, in the Arrangement Constraints & Controls sub-group.
What This Setting Does
This setting lets you define a specific list of day numbers within a month (for example, 5 and 20) that are the only valid choices for the agreed payment date of new installments, when the related day-restriction setting is configured to use given numbers. It provides fine-grained control over which calendar days installments can be due on.
Where It Is Used
This setting supplies the list of selectable days for the Day of Payment field on the arrangement creation form.
- Main Menu > Students > Students List > (open a _Student_) > Financial Data tab > New/Edit Arrangement > Arrangement Installments section – the Day of Payment dropdown for new installments is populated with only these day numbers when the related restriction mode is set to given numbers.
- Main Menu > Financial > Arrangements List > (open an arrangement) – the same restricted Day of Payment dropdown applies when adding installments from this screen.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This setting allows selection of multiple specific day numbers of the month (such as 1, 10, and 25) that will be treated as the only allowed agreed payment dates for new installments.
- This list of day numbers is only applied when the related ‘Days of the month to be allowed for payment agreed dates (other than Prepayment) when a new installment is added’ setting is configured to its ‘given numbers’ option; otherwise this list has no effect.
- If a user tries to set a new installment’s agreed payment date to a day number not included in this list, Classter prevents the action or displays a validation message.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute wants installment due dates to always fall on either the 5th or the 20th of the month, to match its two-per-month billing cycle. The finance administrator, Mr. Carter, sets the related restriction mode to ‘given numbers’ and configures this setting with the values 5 and 20. When staff later add a new installment to Student Ms. Johnson’s arrangement and try to set its agreed payment date to the 12th of the month, Classter rejects the 12th because it is not one of the allowed day numbers, and requires the date to be changed to either the 5th or the 20th of that month instead.
When to Use
Use this setting when your institution needs precise control over which specific calendar days installments can be due on, for example to align with payroll cycles, banking processing days, or internal billing schedules that do not correspond simply to the first or last day of the month.
Notes
- Prerequisites: this setting takes effect only when Enable arrangement constraints/Enable_Arrangement_Constrains is enabled and the related Days of the month to be allowed for payment agreed dates (other than Prepayment) when a new installment is added/Days_of_the_month_to_be_allowed_for_payment_agreed_dates_other_than_Prepayment_when_a_new_installment_is_added setting is set to its ‘given numbers’ option.
- Related settings: Days of the month to be allowed for payment agreed dates (other than Prepayment) when a new installment is added (Days_of_the_month_to_be_allowed_for_payment_agreed_dates_other_than_Prepayment_when_a_new_installment_is_added in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Constraints & Controls), and Enable arrangement constraints (Enable_Arrangement_Constrains in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Constraints & Controls).
This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
