The Calculation of franchise fees up to the date setting (Setting ID: Calculate_Franchising_Fees_To_Date) is located under Financial Settings > General Settings > Financial Reports > Financial Overview per Month/Installment.What This Setting Does

This setting defines a fixed ending date for the calculation of franchise fees. Franchise fees are amounts owed by a franchised campus or branch, typically calculated as a share of fees collected. When a date is set here, the ending point of the calculation period on the franchise fee calculation screen is locked to that date instead of being freely selectable.

Where It Is Used

This setting affects the franchise fee date filter shown on the financial overview per month report, visible only for institutes flagged as a franchise location and only to finance staff with the right to view franchise fee calculations.

• Main Menu > Financial > Financial Overview per Month/Installment – the franchise fee To Date filter on this screen follows this setting.

Business Logic / Behavior

• This is a date-value setting; it has no value by default.
• If a value is set, the To Date filter on the franchise fee calculation screen becomes locked to that date.
• If left empty, users are free to choose any To Date when calculating franchise fees.
• This setting is typically used together with the corresponding From Date setting to define a fixed calculation window.

Example(s)

The franchisor group Meridian Learning Network wants to close out franchise fee calculations at the end of each fiscal year, August 31, 2027, and prevent any franchise location from including later transactions in that period’s calculation. The head office administrator, Mr. Castellano, sets Calculation of franchise fees up to the date to August 31, 2027. Combined with a From Date of September 1, 2026, this locks every campus’s franchise fee calculation screen to the fixed window September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027: a campus that collected $120,000 in fees during that window sees exactly that figure in its franchise fee calculation, while a $9,500 payment recorded on September 4, 2027 is automatically excluded because the To Date filter cannot be moved past August 31, 2027.

When to Use

Use this setting when your organization needs to enforce a consistent, non-editable ending date for franchise fee calculations, for example to close a fiscal period, align with a contract end date, or prevent later transactions from being mixed into an already-settled calculation period.
