Overview
Set CRM Fields for Next Action Date/Collection_Management_Form_CRM_Fields_For_Next_Action_Date is a setting located under Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters, in the Arrangement Collectors sub-group.
What This Setting Does
This setting determines which CRM date field is used to store and display the “Next Action Date” on the Collection Management form, which collectors use when following up on overdue Arrangement payments. The institution can choose which of the available CRM date fields (the standard CRM date field, or one of two customizable date fields) should serve this purpose.
Where It Is Used
This setting was found directly referenced in the Portal code. It affects the following screen:
- Main Menu > Financial > Arrangements List > Collection Data > Log Trail – the Next Action Date column only appears in this collections follow-up log when a CRM date field has been selected for it.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is a single-select (dropdown) setting with three available options: the standard CRM Date field, Custom Date 1, or Custom Date 2.
- The option selected determines which CRM date field is shown and used as the “Next Action Date” on the Collection Management form.
- This allows institutions to reuse an existing CRM date field they have already set up for other purposes, rather than introducing a brand new dedicated field.
- This setting is tied to the CRM module, so it is relevant primarily to institutions actively using CRM-based follow-up tracking for collections.
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, the CRM team has already been using “Custom Date 2” for tracking various follow-up dates across the system. To keep things consistent, they set this setting to “Custom Date 2” so that when a collector named Marcus speaks with a Student’s family on July 6, 2026 about an overdue Arrangement and schedules his next follow-up call for July 16, 2026 (10 days later), that July 16, 2026 date is recorded in the same CRM field used elsewhere in their CRM processes rather than in a separate dedicated field.
When to Use
Use this setting to align the Collection Management form’s “Next Action Date” field with however the institution has already organized its CRM date fields. Choose the standard CRM Date field for a straightforward default setup, or one of the Custom Date options if the institution needs to keep this separate from other CRM date usage or match an existing CRM field convention.
Notes
This setting requires the Arrangement Collectors feature to be enabled, and generally assumes the institution already has its CRM fields configured, since it selects among existing CRM date fields rather than creating a new one.
- Enable Arrangement Collectors feature (Enable_Arrangement_Collectors in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Collectors)
- Set CRM Field for Promised Amount (Collection_Management_Form_CRM_Fields_For_Promised_Amount in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Collectors)
- Select which Employee Categories will be available in Collectors lists (Employee_Categories_To_Be_Available_In_Collectors_List in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Collectors)
- Related configuration: CRM Category Custom Fields (CRM > CRM Settings > CRM Categories > category form > Dynamic Dropdowns tab > Custom Fields) – where the CRM Date, Custom Date 1, and Custom Date 2 fields offered here are defined and labeled per CRM Category.
This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
