Delete arrangement when the selected user types terminate/stop a service

Overview

Delete arrangement when the selected user types terminate/stop a service/Delete_Arrangement_When_User_Stops_Service is a setting located under Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters, in the Arrangement Modifications sub-group.

What This Setting Does

This setting lets the institution choose which types of users (for example, Students, Educators/Teachers, or other user types), when they stop or terminate a billed service, will cause the connected financial Arrangement to be deleted entirely, rather than simply readjusted. If a selected user type stops a service and the Arrangement has no payments already connected to it, Classter deletes the Arrangement instead of keeping and recalculating it.

Where It Is Used

The deletion logic runs automatically in the backend whenever a service is stopped or terminated for one of the selected user types. It affects:

  • Main Menu > Financial > Arrangements List – an Arrangement that qualifies for automatic deletion under this setting will simply no longer appear in this list once the connected service is stopped.
  • Student profile activity/service screens where a service is stopped or terminated for a Student, Educator, or other selected user type – this is the action that triggers the automatic deletion.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • This is a multi-select list of user types; only the user types selected here will trigger automatic Arrangement deletion when they stop a service.
  • If a selected user type stops or terminates a service, and the connected Arrangement has no payments recorded against it, Classter deletes the Arrangement.
  • According to the setting’s own description, this explicitly overrides any automatic readjustment process that might otherwise apply, meaning deletion takes priority over readjustment for the selected user types.
  • If no user types are selected, this deletion behavior does not apply to anyone, and other settings (such as automatic readjustment) govern what happens instead.
  • Arrangements that already have payments connected to them are not deleted by this setting, since the description specifies only Arrangements without payments are affected.

Example(s)

At Alpha Institute, the administration configures this setting to include the Student user type. A Student named Owen B. enrolls in a summer workshop with a financial Arrangement totaling $600 across 3 installments of $200 each, then withdraws on day 3 before any payment has been made. Because Owen (a Student) is included in the selected user types and none of the 3 installments has a payment recorded, Classter automatically deletes the entire $600 Arrangement instead of leaving an empty or readjusted plan behind.

When to Use

Use this setting when the institution wants unpaid Arrangements to be cleaned up automatically as soon as certain user types stop the related service, rather than being readjusted or left in the system. Select the user types for which this automatic deletion behavior should apply; leave user types unselected if their Arrangements should instead be readjusted or handled manually.

Notes

This setting interacts directly with automatic Arrangement readjustment: for the user types selected here, deletion takes priority and overrides the readjustment process.

  • Readjust arrangement when a _Student_’s service is deleted or terminated (Anaprosarmogi_Diakanonismou_se_pausi_drastiriotitas in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Modifications)
  • Check for lack of installments with financial transactions before saving the selected arrangement plan (Elegxos_Gia_Elipsi_Minon_Me_Oikonomiki_Kinisi_Kata_Tin_Apothikeusi_Diakanonismou in Financial Settings > General Settings > Arrangements Parameters > Arrangement Modifications)

This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
