Overview
Display label: Card custom color
Setting ID: CardCustomColor
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Card and QR codes
What This Setting Does
This setting lets the institution choose the background color used for the digital card in the Classter mobile app, as well as on the card added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It gives institutions a simple way to brand the card with an institution color.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated configuration screen beyond the color picker itself. The chosen color is applied automatically to the background of the digital card in the mobile app, and to the card generated for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
Business Logic / Behavior
- The value is selected using a color picker.
- The selected color is used as the background of the card shown in the mobile app.
- The same color is also used as the background when the card is added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
- If Custom Color is also selected among the Card data page properties, the color may additionally be reflected in that property area on the card details page.
- If left unset, the mobile app and wallet cards fall back to Classter’s default card appearance.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute wants its digital student cards to match its official navy blue branding. The administrator opens this setting and selects a navy blue color from the color picker.
After saving, when student Olivia M. opens her digital card in the mobile app, the card background now appears in navy blue. When she later adds the same card to her phone’s wallet app, the wallet card also displays with the navy blue background.
When to Use
Use this setting to align the digital card’s appearance with your institution’s branding, both inside the Classter mobile app and when the card is added to a phone’s wallet app.
