Overview
Display label: Card text color
Setting ID: CardTextColor
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Card and QR codes
What This Setting Does
This setting lets the institution choose the color used for the text shown on the digital card in the Classter mobile app, and on the card added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It is typically set together with the card’s background color to keep the text readable.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated configuration screen beyond the color picker itself. The chosen color is applied automatically to the text on the digital card in the mobile app, and to the card generated for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
Business Logic / Behavior
- The value is selected using a color picker.
- The selected color is applied to the text displayed on the card in the mobile app.
- The same color is also used for the text on the card generated for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
- This setting should be chosen to contrast clearly with the background color set in Card custom color, so that card text remains readable.
- If left unset, the mobile app and wallet cards fall back to Classter’s default text color.
Example(s)
After setting its card background to navy blue, Alpha Institute also wants the text on the card to remain easy to read. The administrator opens this setting and selects white as the text color.
After saving, student Olivia M.’s digital card in the mobile app now shows her name and card details in white text over the navy blue background, and the same white-on-navy styling appears when the card is added to a wallet app.
When to Use
Use this setting together with Card custom color to ensure the text on the digital card and wallet card stays legible against your chosen background color.
