Overview
Display label: Card custom text
Setting ID: CardCustomText
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Card and QR codes
What This Setting Does
This setting lets the institution add a custom, formatted piece of text to the digital card page shown in the Classter mobile app. It can be used for a short message, instructions, or an institution note that appears alongside a person’s card details.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated configuration screen; the text entered here appears automatically on the digital card page in the mobile app, provided the Custom Text property is included in the Card data page properties setting.
Business Logic / Behavior
- The text supports basic formatting (bold, italics, and similar rich text styling).
- The text only appears on the card page if Custom Text is selected among the Card data page properties.
- If left blank, no custom text section is shown on the card page.
- The same custom text is shown to every person’s card page; it is not personalized per student, teacher, or parent.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute wants to remind card holders to report lost cards immediately. The administrator opens this setting and enters the text “If this card is lost, please report it to the front office within 24 hours.”
After saving and confirming that Custom Text is included in the Card data page properties setting, when teacher Priya S. opens her digital card in the mobile app, she now sees this reminder message displayed on her card page.
When to Use
Use this setting when you want to communicate a short standard message, instruction, or note directly on every card page in the mobile app.
