Overview
Display label: Google Wallet logo text for user’s card
Setting ID: GoogleWalletDefaultLogoText
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Google Wallet
What This Setting Does
This setting defines the label text (also referred to as the card title) that appears next to the logo on a person’s regular personal card (as opposed to a benefits card) when it is added to Google Wallet from the Classter mobile app.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated configuration screen; the text entered here is applied automatically whenever a student, teacher, or parent/partner adds their personal card to Google Wallet from the mobile app.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This text is used only for personal cards added to Google Wallet; benefits cards use a separate logo text setting.
- If this setting is left blank, Google Wallet displays the institution’s name next to the logo instead.
- This setting only affects Google Wallet; the equivalent label for Apple Wallet is configured separately.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute wants Google Wallet personal cards to also read “Alpha Institute Student ID” next to the logo, matching what it set up for Apple Wallet. The administrator opens this setting and enters that text.
After saving, when student Nathan K. adds his personal card to Google Wallet on his Android phone, the wallet card now displays “Alpha Institute Student ID” next to the school logo.
When to Use
Use this setting when you want the Google Wallet personal card to carry a specific label rather than defaulting to the institution’s full name.
