Overview
Display label: Card data page properties
Setting ID: CardDataPageProperties
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Card and QR codes
What This Setting Does
This setting controls which pieces of information appear on the digital card page that students, parents/partners, and teachers see in the Classter mobile app. This is the screen that shows a person’s ID/benefits card details, including their photo, contact information, and card code, along with the QR code used for scanning.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated configuration screen; it takes effect automatically whenever the digital card page is displayed in the Classter mobile app. Only the properties selected here are shown on that card page, whether the person is a student, a teacher, or a parent/partner.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Available properties include Name, Photo, Institute Name, Educational Programs, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, Email, Card Code, Card Benefits Code, Expiration Date, Global Registration Number, Card, Name Label, User Code, and Pin Code, among others.
- Only the properties selected here are displayed on the card page in the mobile app; unselected properties are hidden even if the underlying data exists.
- By default, Classter shows Name, Photo, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, Email, Card Code, Card Benefits Code, Expiration Date, and Card.
- The Photo and Card Code properties selected here also determine whether a person’s photo and card number are included when generating the digital card for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
- The same set of selected properties applies uniformly to students, teachers, and parents/partners; there is no separate configuration per entity type.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute wants to keep its digital card page simple and avoid displaying home phone numbers for privacy reasons. The administrator opens this setting and removes Home Phone from the selected properties, keeping Name, Photo, Mobile Phone, Email, Card Code, Card Benefits Code, Expiration Date, and Card selected.
After saving, when student Marcus W. opens his digital card in the mobile app, the card page shows his name, photo, mobile phone, email, card code, benefits code, expiration date, and QR code, but no longer shows a home phone field.
When to Use
Use this setting to decide exactly which personal and card details should be visible on the mobile app’s card page, balancing convenience for staff scanning cards against privacy considerations for the information shown.
