Enabled Functions For Student Parent In To Do List

Updated on July 8, 2026

3 min to read

Overview

Display label: Enabled functions for Student/Parents in To-do list

Setting ID: Enabled_Functions_For_Student_Parent_In_To_Do_List

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Basic Settings

What This Setting Does

This setting controls which categories of information appear in the To-Do list that _Students_ and their parents see in the Classter mobile app. The To-Do list is a combined view of upcoming items relevant to the student, and this setting lets the institution decide which item types are included.

The available categories are Timetable and Sessions, Homeworks, Assessments and Assignments, and Meetings. An administrator can select any combination of these, and only the selected categories will be pulled together into the To-Do list shown to students and parents.

Where It Is Used

This setting has no dedicated configuration screen of its own; it is applied automatically whenever a student or parent opens the To-Do list (or home screen agenda) in the Classter mobile app. Depending on the categories selected here, the mobile app will show or hide sections for upcoming _Group_ sessions and timetable entries, homework due dates, upcoming assessments and assignments, and scheduled meetings.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • The setting stores a list of enabled categories: Timetable and Sessions, Homeworks, Assessments and Assignments, and Meetings.
  • Only the categories selected here are combined into the To-Do list that _Students_ and parents see in the mobile app.
  • If a category is not selected, its items are excluded from the To-Do list even if the underlying data exists (for example, homework due dates will not appear if Homeworks is not enabled).
  • This setting only affects what _Students_ and parents see; the equivalent setting for teachers is configured separately.
  • The end-of-day cutoff used to decide when the To-Do list starts showing next day’s items is controlled by a separate setting.

Example(s)

Alpha Institute wants parents to focus on academic deadlines rather than daily schedules in the mobile app. The administrator opens this setting and selects only Homeworks and Assessments and Assignments, leaving Timetable and Sessions and Meetings unchecked.

After saving, a parent named Helen C. opens the Classter app for her son Michael. His To-Do list now shows only his upcoming homework due dates and scheduled assessments; his daily class timetable and any parent-teacher meetings no longer appear in that list, even though they are still visible elsewhere in the app.

When to Use

Use this setting to tailor the mobile To-Do list experience for students and parents, keeping it focused on the categories that matter most to your institution’s communication style.

Notes

Prerequisites: none.

  • Related settings:
  • Enabled functions for Teacher in To-do list (Enabled_Functions_For_Teacher_In_To_Do_List in Mobile App > Basic Settings)
  • Time used to define the end of a teaching day (Time_Used_To_Define_The_End_Of_A_Teaching_Day in Mobile App > Basic Settings)

K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting behaves the same regardless of institution type.
