Time Used To Define The End Of A Teaching Day

Updated on July 8, 2026

1 min to read

Overview

Display label: Time used to define the end of a teaching day

Setting ID: Time_Used_To_Define_The_End_Of_A_Teaching_Day

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Mobile App > Basic Settings

What This Setting Does

This setting defines the clock time that Classter treats as the end of the teaching day. It is used by the mobile app’s To-Do list to decide when to stop showing items for the current day and start showing items for the next day instead.

The value is entered as a time (hours and minutes) and defaults to 23:00 (11:00 PM).

Where It Is Used

This setting has no dedicated configuration screen; it works automatically in the background. It affects the To-Do list that students, parents, and teachers see in the Classter mobile app: once the current time passes the value configured here, the app treats the school day as finished and begins displaying tomorrow’s timetable, sessions, homework, assessments, and meetings in the To-Do list.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • The value represents a time of day (for example 23:00) rather than a date.
  • Before this time is reached, the mobile app’s To-Do list shows items for the current day.
  • After this time is reached, the To-Do list rolls forward and starts showing items for the next day.
  • This setting only affects the timing of the roll-over; it does not affect which categories of items appear (that is controlled by the Enabled functions for Student/Parents and Enabled functions for Teacher To-Do list settings).
  • The default value is 23:00.

Example(s)

Alpha Institute keeps the default value of 23:00 for this setting. On Tuesday at 9:00 PM, a student named Laura B. opens the app and her To-Do list still shows Tuesday’s remaining classes and homework due that day.

At 11:15 PM the same evening, Laura opens the app again. Because the current time is now past 23:00, her To-Do list has rolled over and instead shows Wednesday’s timetable, sessions, and any homework or assessments due on Wednesday.

When to Use

Adjust this setting if your institution’s teaching day extends later or ends earlier than the 23:00 default, so the mobile To-Do list rolls over to the next day at a time that matches your actual school schedule.

Notes

Prerequisites: none.

  • Related settings:
  • Enabled functions for Student/Parents in To-do list (Enabled_Functions_For_Student_Parent_In_To_Do_List in Mobile App > Basic Settings)
  • Enabled functions for Teacher in To-do list (Enabled_Functions_For_Teacher_In_To_Do_List in Mobile App > Basic Settings)

K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting behaves the same regardless of institution type.
