Setting label: Return additional Grade filtering options in educational program form

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration tab, Educational Program Parameters group
What This Setting Does
This setting adds extra filter fields at the top of the educational program create/edit form, letting staff narrow down the list of available _Grades_ and Streams before selecting one, using the Educational Program Category and, depending on the option chosen, the Grade Type or Grade Level as well.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Students > Students List > Create (or Edit) > Educational Program section.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Grade Type and Educational Program Category: shows both a Grade Type filter and an Educational Program Category filter at the top of the form, and the available _Grades_ and Streams are narrowed down according to both selections.
- Grade Level and Educational Program Category: shows both a Grade Level filter and an Educational Program Category filter, narrowing the available _Grades_ and Streams according to both selections.
- Educational Program Category: shows only the Educational Program Category filter, narrowing the available _Grades_ and Streams by category alone.
- If the setting is left unselected, no additional filters are shown and the standard, unfiltered list of _Grades_ and Streams is displayed.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute selects Educational Program Category. When registrar Helen A. opens the educational program create form for _Student_ Marcus B., a Category filter appears at the top. Helen selects the category Undergraduate Programs, and the Grade drop down below immediately narrows from 45 Grades institution-wide down to the 12 Grades that belong to Undergraduate Programs, making it faster for Helen to find the right one.
When to Use
Use this setting when the institution manages a large number of _Grades_ and Streams and staff would benefit from narrowing that list down by category, type, or level before making a selection on the educational program form.
Notes
K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether Enable Configuration for Higher Education is on or off.
