Overview
This setting (Automated_Enrollments_Include_Only_Groups_With_Section_Equal_To_The_Educational_Programs_Zone) is located in Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration, under the Automated Groups/Subjects enrollments group.
What This Setting Does
This setting narrows down the automated _Group_/_Subject_ enrollment process so that it only considers _Groups_ whose Section matches the Zone/Section of the _Student_’s educational program. _Groups_ connected to a different Zone/Section are excluded from the automated matching.
Where It Is Used
This setting runs automatically in the background with no dedicated screen. It is evaluated every time the automated enrollment process runs, triggered when a _Student_’s educational program is created or changed on Main Menu > Management > Students > Students List > [click a _Student_] > Edit form > Educational Program / School Registrations tab.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is an on/off checkbox setting. The default value is disabled (False).
- When enabled, only _Groups_ whose Section equals the Zone/Section of the _Student_’s educational program are considered by the automated enrollment process.
- When disabled (the default), the automated enrollment process considers _Groups_ regardless of whether their Section matches the _Student_’s educational program Zone/Section.
- In College/Higher Education installations, this setting can be overridden by Allow Students added to Groups of different Timetable Zone or Section: when that setting does not allow cross-Zone enrollment, the same-Zone restriction is enforced for the automated process regardless of this setting’s value.
- This setting only has an effect when the master switch, Enable the automated enrollment of Students to Groups/Subjects upon education program creation or change, is enabled.
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, administrator Diego enables this setting together with the master automated enrollment switch. Student Hannah W.’s educational program is connected to the East Campus Zone. Two Biology _Groups_ exist: one connected to the East Campus Zone and one connected to the West Campus Zone. When Hannah’s educational program is created, the automated process only considers the East Campus Biology _Group_ for enrollment and ignores the West Campus one.
When to Use
When to Enable
Enable this setting when the institution wants the automated enrollment process to strictly respect Zone/Section boundaries, ensuring _Students_ are only automatically enrolled into _Groups_ that belong to their own campus or section.
When to Disable
Disable this setting (the default) when the institution does not need Zone/Section matching to be enforced during automated enrollment, for example when _Groups_ are shared across Zones or Sections.
Notes
Prerequisite: this setting only takes effect when Enable_Automated_Enrollment_Of_Students_To_Groups_Subjects_On_Education_Program_Change is enabled.

K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting’s override note explicitly references College installations, indicating its interaction with Allow_Students_Added_To_Groups_Of_Different_Timetable_Zone_Or_Section is specific to Higher Education / College configurations; in standard K-12 configurations this override does not apply.
