Overview
This setting (Delete_Enrollments_On_Educational_Program_Deletion) is located in Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration, under the Subject Enrollments group.
What This Setting Does
When an educational program is deleted, or amended to a different curriculum, the _Subjects_ that were enrolled under it are normally moved into a without curriculum state rather than removed. This setting changes that behavior: when enabled, those _Subject_ enrollments are logically deleted instead of being moved to the without curriculum state. Enabling this setting overrides the separate setting that otherwise allows users to remove _Subjects_ from _Students_ even when marks or grades have already been recorded.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Management > Students > Students List > [click a _Student_] > Edit form > Educational Program / School Registrations tab – this setting is applied automatically whenever staff delete or change the curriculum of an educational program entry on this tab.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is an on/off checkbox setting. The default value is disabled (False).
- When disabled (the default), deleting or amending an educational program’s curriculum moves its enrolled _Subjects_ into a without curriculum state; they are not removed.
- When enabled, the same action logically deletes the enrolled _Subject_ entries instead of moving them to the without curriculum state.
- When enabled, this setting overrides the setting that allows users to remove _Subjects_ from _Students_ even if there are registered marks or grades.
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, administrator Nadia enables this setting. Student Oliver B. is enrolled in the Bachelor of Marketing program with 6 _Subjects_ declared. When staff amend Oliver’s program to the Bachelor of Finance curriculum in March 2026, Classter logically deletes all 6 of his previous Marketing _Subject_ enrollments instead of leaving them in a without curriculum state. If the setting had been left disabled, those 6 enrollments would instead remain visible under a without curriculum status.
When to Use
When to Enable
Enable this setting when the institution wants a clean removal of _Subject_ enrollments whenever an educational program is deleted or its curriculum is changed, rather than keeping leftover without curriculum enrollments that need to be manually cleaned up later.
When to Disable
Disable this setting (the default) if the institution prefers to keep a record of previously enrolled _Subjects_ under a without curriculum status after a program deletion or curriculum change, for example for historical or auditing purposes.
Notes
Prerequisite: none. Note that enabling this setting overrides the separate setting controlling removal of _Subjects_ with existing marks or grades.
- Related settings: Allow users to remove Subjects from Students, even if there are registered marks or grades (Diagrafi_Mathimatos_Me_Vathmologies_Apo_Mathiti in Student Form Registration > Subject Enrollments).
K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting is specifically intended for Higher Education / College institutions and is scoped to that module; in standard K-12 configurations educational program deletions and curriculum changes are handled without this override.
