Overview
Setting label: Enable Cross Period view of Educational Program on Student card page
Setting ID: Enable_Cross_Period_View_On_Educational_Program
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration tab, Educational Program Parameters group
What This Setting Does
This setting lets Classter display educational program enrollments from academic periods other than the current working period on the _Student_ card page. By selecting one or more _Student_ statuses, the institution controls which enrollments, based on their status, are also shown even though they belong to a different period than the one currently being worked in.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Students > Students List > View (or Edit) > Student card page, Educational Program list.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Only educational program enrollments whose status matches one of the statuses selected in this setting are pulled in from other periods; enrollments with a non-matching status remain hidden from the cross-period view.
- If no status is selected, the Educational Program list on the Student card page shows only the enrollments belonging to the current working period.
- Enrollments shown through the cross-period view remain read-only historical entries and do not replace the current period’s active enrollment.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute selects the status Graduated in this setting. When staff member Carla N. opens the Student card page for _Student_ Diego S. while working in the 2026-2027 period, she also sees his 2025-2026 educational program enrollment because it carries the Graduated status, even though that enrollment belongs to a previous period.
When to Use
Use this setting when staff regularly need to see certain historical enrollments, such as graduated, withdrawn, or transferred _Students_, directly on the Student card page without switching the working period.
