Overview
The Enable Disable Reregistration flag setting (Enable_DisableReregistrationFlag) is located in Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration, under the Drop Off Indicator & Disable Reregistration Settings group.
What This Setting Does
This setting turns on a Disable Reregistration indicator on a _Student_’s educational program record. When enabled, staff can mark a specific educational program enrollment as one that should not be carried over or automatically re-registered into the next Academic Period, for example when a _Student_ has decided not to continue in that program. The companion setting Enable Disable Reregistration additional properties controls which extra fields, such as an effective date or a reason, are captured together with the flag.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Management > Students > Students List > [click a _Student_] > Edit form > Educational Program / School Registrations tab (Add/Edit School Registration) – once enabled, a Disable Reregistration indicator becomes available on each of the _Student_’s educational program entries. This setting is also read on the Main Menu > Financial > Mass Billing and Main Menu > Financial > Installment Analysis screens, and during the bulk Institute-Year Transfer action available from the Students List.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is an on/off checkbox setting. The default value is disabled (False).
- When enabled, staff can set the Disable Reregistration indicator on a _Student_’s educational program entry.
- When disabled (the default), the indicator is not available anywhere in the _Student_’s educational program section.
- Which additional fields (effective date and/or reason) appear alongside the flag is controlled separately by the Enable Disable Reregistration additional properties setting.
- Whether a comment is mandatory when the flag is set is controlled separately by the Make the comment required… setting.
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, administrator Maria enables the Enable Disable Reregistration flag setting. Student Daniel C. informs the school in May 2026 that he will not continue in the Computer Science educational program next year. Maria opens Daniel’s Educational Program tab and sets the Disable Reregistration indicator on his Computer Science enrollment. When Alpha Institute runs its yearly transfer of _Students_ to the 2026-2027 Academic Period in August 2026, Daniel’s Computer Science enrollment is excluded from the automatic carry-over, while his other, unflagged enrollments are transferred normally.
When to Use
When to Enable
Enable this setting when the institution needs a way to mark specific educational program enrollments so that they are not automatically renewed or carried over to the next Academic Period, for example when a _Student_ withdraws from a specific program but remains enrolled in others.
When to Disable
Disable this setting (the default) if the institution does not need to track this distinction and simply removes or changes a _Student_’s educational program status directly when the _Student_ will not continue.

Prerequisite: none. This setting can be enabled independently.

K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
