Overview
Setting label: Hidden columns in Student’s educational program list
Setting ID: Hidden_Columns_In_Students_Card_Educational_Program_List
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration tab, Educational Program Parameters group
What This Setting Does
This setting hides selected columns from the educational program list shown on the _Student_ card page. It lets the institution simplify that list by removing columns that are not relevant to daily use, such as Application ID, Location, Change Reason, Grade, Stream, Registration Date, and several other technical columns.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Students > Students List > View (or Edit) > Student card page, Educational Program list.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Each column selected in this setting is removed from the Educational Program list on the Student card page for every user viewing it.
- Columns not selected continue to appear in the list as usual.
- If no column is selected, the Educational Program list displays its full default set of columns.
- This setting only controls column visibility in the list view; it does not remove the underlying data or hide the corresponding fields on the educational program edit form.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute selects Application ID, Application Handler, and Change Reason in this setting. When staff member Julia F. opens the Student card page for _Student_ Owen B., the Educational Program list no longer shows those 3 columns, leaving a shorter, cleaner list with only the remaining columns such as Grade, Stream, and Registration Date.
When to Use
Use this setting when the default Educational Program list contains more columns than staff actually need day to day, and hiding the unused ones would make the list easier to read and navigate.
