What This Setting Does
This setting lets the institution choose a specific day of the week that the automatically-calculated end date of an educational program registration should land on. It refines the automatic End Date calculation described in the Auto-calculate educational program End Date setting, adjusting the calculated date so that it falls on the chosen weekday.
Where It Is Used
Main Menu > Students > Students List > Create (or Edit) > Educational Program section, End Date field.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This setting only takes effect when the Auto-calculate educational program End Date setting is enabled.
- The selected weekday, for example, Friday, is used to adjust the automatically calculated end date so that it always falls on that day rather than on an exact week-count date.
- If no day is selected, the end date is calculated purely on the category duration in weeks, without adjustment to a specific weekday.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute enables auto-calculation of the end date and sets this setting to Friday. A 6-week program category starting on Monday 6 July 2026, would calculate a raw end date of Monday, 17 August 2026; because Friday is selected, Classter adjusts the End Date shown on the educational program record to Friday, 21 August 2026, so all program end dates line up with the institution’s Friday closing schedule.
When to Use
Use this setting when the institution wants every automatically-calculated educational program end date to consistently fall on the same weekday, for example, to align with weekly billing cycles, weekly reporting, or a fixed closing day for programs.
Notes
Prerequisite: The Auto-calculate educational program End Date based on Educational Program Category duration setting must be enabled for this setting to have any effect.
