What This Setting Does
This setting defines the default method used to notify the requesting user once a bulk reporting process (for example, a bulk document generation job) has finished running. The available methods are Internal Message and Email.
Where It Is Used
This setting runs automatically in the background whenever a new bulk reporting request is processed (for example, through the Bulk Services area). There is no separate screen where staff pick the notification method per request; the method configured here is applied automatically.
Business Logic / Behavior
- If set to Email, the requesting user receives an email once their bulk reporting job completes.
- If set to Internal Message, the requesting user receives an internal Classter message once their bulk reporting job completes.
- If no value is configured, Email is used as the default method.
- The message category used for the completion notification is controlled separately by the Message category for bulk requesting processes setting.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute sets this option to Internal Message so that staff are notified inside Classter itself rather than through their email inbox.
A staff member, Grace T., submits a bulk request to generate 200 _Student_ certificates. A few minutes later, once the job finishes, she receives an internal Classter message confirming completion, instead of an email.
When to Use
Use this setting to choose whether staff are informed about finished bulk reporting jobs through email or through Classter’s internal messaging, based on which channel staff monitor more closely.
