What This Setting Does
This setting provides a fallback value for the Second Educational Program Indication property when a Student’s Educational Program is transferred to a new academic period. If Second Educational Program Indication was not selected to be carried over, this setting assigns the configured default value instead of leaving it blank.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated screen of its own. It runs automatically in the background during period-to-period transfer, right after Classter checks whether Second Educational Program Indication was included in the list of properties to keep.
Business Logic / Behavior
- Only takes effect when Second Educational Program Indication is not included in the properties selected under Keep the following properties when transferring an educational program from period to period (Educational_Program_Properties_For_Period_Transfer in Period To Period Transfers > Basic Settings).
- When a value is configured here, that value is automatically assigned to the Second Educational Program Indication property of the transferred Educational Program.
- If no value is configured, or if Second Educational Program Indication is already selected to be transferred, Second Educational Program Indication remains blank in the new period unless carried over directly.
- The value selected here comes from the list of configured Second Educational Program Indication values.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute does not include Second Educational Program Indication in the list of properties to keep during transfer, but configures this setting to the value “New Cohort”. Student Ioanna P. is transferred to the new academic period. Her Second Educational Program Indication is automatically set to “New Cohort” instead of being left blank.
When to Use
Configure this setting when Second Educational Program Indication is intentionally excluded from the properties carried over during transfer, but the institution still wants a specific default value populated automatically for transferred Students.

Prerequisites: The desired Second Educational Program Indication value must already exist in the configured values list before it can be selected here.

K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether the institution is a K-12 school or a Higher Education institution.
