Enable above automated status selection if the price is the same for the next academic period

Overview

Display label: Enable above automated status selection if the price is the same for the next academic period

Setting ID: Transfer_Enable_Automated_Status_Selection_For_Next_Academic_Period

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Period To Period Transfers, Basic Settings group

What This Setting Does

This setting turns on an additional automation layer for the Pricing Category selection that happens during period-to-period transfer. It allows Classter to automatically keep the current Pricing Category decision in place for the next academic period whenever the price for that Educational Program is confirmed to stay the same, and the Student has an active financial arrangement.

Where It Is Used

This setting has no dedicated screen of its own. It runs automatically in the background during period-to-period transfer, in combination with the transferred education program should get the following pricing category (Transfer_Educational_Program_Should_Get_The_Following_Pricing_Category in Period To Period Transfers > Basic Settings) and Default Pricing Category (Transfer_Default_Pricing_Category in Period To Period Transfers > Basic Settings).

Business Logic / Behavior

  • Works together with the automated Pricing Category selection defined by The transferred education program should get the following pricing category and Default Pricing Category settings.
  • When enabled, the automated status/pricing selection for the next academic period only fires if the price is confirmed to remain the same, meaning a “keep price for next academic periods” value on the arrangement is not null or zero, and the Educational Program has an active arrangement.
  • When disabled, this additional automation does not run, and the Pricing Category decision for the next period follows only the base rules configured in the other transfer pricing settings.
  • The default value is disabled (False).

Example(s)

Alpha Institute has an arrangement for Student Alexandros F. that keeps the same tuition price for the next 2 academic periods, and the arrangement is active. With this setting enabled, when Alexandros is transferred to the next academic period, Classter automatically re-applies the automated Pricing Category selection without requiring a manual review, because the price-hold condition and the active arrangement are both satisfied.

If the arrangement did not include a price-hold for future periods, or the arrangement was not active, the automated selection covered by this setting would not apply, even if the setting is enabled.

When to Use

When to Enable

Enable this setting when the institution offers multi-period price-hold arrangements and wants the Pricing Category automation to continue seamlessly into the next academic period for Students covered by such arrangements.

When to Disable

Disable this setting when the institution prefers that Pricing Category decisions for the next academic period always follow only the base transfer pricing rules, without this extra price-hold-based automation.

Notes

Prerequisites: A financial arrangement with a defined price-hold for future academic periods must exist for this automation to have any effect.

  • Related settings: The transferred education program should get the following pricing category (Transfer_Educational_Program_Should_Get_The_Following_Pricing_Category in Period To Period Transfers > Basic Settings)
  • Related settings: Default Pricing Category (Transfer_Default_Pricing_Category in Period To Period Transfers > Basic Settings)

K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether the institution is a K-12 school or a Higher Education institution.
