Status of STUDENTS’ services do not change automatically when STUDENT status changes.

Overview

Display label: Status of Students’ services do not change automatically when Student status changes.

Setting ID: Na_Min_Tropopiountai_Oi_Drastiriotites_Kata_Tin_Allagi_Katastasis_Mathiti

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Services Parameters tab, Basic Settings group.

What This Setting Does

By default, when a _Student_’s registration status changes from a registered status to a Deleted or Inactive status, Classter automatically changes the enrollment status of all the _Student_’s registered _Services_ to a stopped status. This setting lets an institution turn that automatic behavior off. When enabled, Classter will no longer touch the _Student_’s enrolled _Services_ when the _Student_’s status changes.

The same behavior can also be overridden at the individual service category level, in addition to this global setting.

Where It Is Used

This setting has no dedicated management screen of its own. It runs automatically in the background whenever a Student’s registration status is changed (for example, from the Student’s registration record in Main Settings > Student Registration, or through bulk status-change actions), and it controls whether the Student’s Service enrollments are stopped as a side effect of that status change.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • Default value: disabled (unchecked).
  • When disabled: changing a Student’s status from a registered status to Deleted/Inactive automatically stops all of that Student’s registered Service enrollments.
  • When enabled: Classter does not make any change to the Student’s enrolled Services when the Student’s status changes; existing Service enrollments stay exactly as they were.
  • The setting can also be refined at the service category level, allowing some categories of Services to keep the automatic stop behavior while others do not, independently of this general setting.
  • This setting only affects the automatic status change of already-enrolled Services; it does not affect new Service enrollments.

Example(s)

Example with the setting disabled (default): Alpha Institute has this setting turned off. Student Maria C. is enrolled in the After-School Club and School Bus services. Her registration status is changed from Registered to Inactive after she withdraws from the school. Classter automatically stops both her After-School Club and School Bus enrollments, since her registered status was changed to Inactive.

Example with the setting enabled: Alpha Institute later enables this setting. Student Daniel F. is enrolled in the Music Lessons service. His status is changed from Registered to Inactive due to a temporary leave of absence. Classter leaves his Music Lessons enrollment unchanged; staff must manually stop or adjust it if needed.

When to Use

When to Enable

Enable this setting when the institution wants Service enrollments to remain untouched regardless of changes to a Student’s registration status, for example when Service billing or attendance records must be manually reviewed and closed out rather than being stopped automatically.

When to Disable

Keep this setting disabled (the default) when the institution wants Classter to automatically stop a Student’s Service enrollments as soon as the Student is marked Deleted or Inactive, avoiding leftover active enrollments for Students who are no longer registered.

Notes

Prerequisites: none beyond having Services and Student status management configured.

  • Related settings: Default change reason for stopping/changing services (Default_Change_Reason_For_Activity_Changes in Services Parameters > Basic Settings)
  • Related settings: Do not re-enroll automatically enrolled default services if have been enrolled to at least one academic period for the same educational Program (Do_Not_Automatically_ReEnroll_Old_Services in Services Parameters > Basic Settings)

K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether the institution is configured for K-12 or Higher Education.
