Overview
Display label: Subject enrollment statuses that trigger automatic service enrollment
Setting ID: Subject_Enrollment_Status_For_Automatic_Service_Enrollment
Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Services Parameters tab, Basic Settings group.
What This Setting Does
This setting lets an institution select which _Subject_ enrollment statuses can trigger the automatic enrollment of default Services that are configured per _Subject_. The automatic enrollment process only runs when a Student’s _Subject_ enrollment status matches one of the selected values.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated screen of its own; it runs automatically in the background. It is checked whenever a Student is added to or removed from a _Subject_, working together with the default services configured on the “Manage default services per Subject enrollment” screen.
Business Logic / Behavior
- The list is a multiple selection of _Subject_ enrollment statuses (for example, statuses representing an active or confirmed course enrollment).
- When a Student is enrolled in a _Subject_ that has default Services marked for auto-enroll, Classter checks the Student’s _Subject_ enrollment status against this list.
- If the Student’s _Subject_ enrollment status matches one of the selected values, Classter automatically enrolls the Student in the default Services configured for that _Subject_, and, if a Student general category restriction is set on the default service, only Students in that category are enrolled.
- If no statuses are selected in this list, the _Subject_ enrollment status is not used as a gate, and eligibility is determined only by the other automatic enrollment rules.
- If a Student’s status does not match any selected value, the Student is not automatically enrolled in the _Subject_’s default Services.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute selects “Active” as the only Subject enrollment status that triggers automatic service enrollment. Student Marco S. is added to the Subject “Biology”, which has the Laboratory Fee service marked as default and auto-enroll, with an enrollment status of “Active”. Because “Active” is in the selected list, Classter automatically enrolls Marco in the Laboratory Fee service. If Marco had instead been added with a “Pending” status, no automatic enrollment would occur until his status changed to Active.
When to Use
Configure this list to match the Subject enrollment statuses that represent a confirmed course enrollment at the institution, so that Subject-linked Services such as lab fees or supplementary materials are only auto-enrolled once the enrollment is confirmed, and not while it is still pending or provisional.
Notes
Prerequisites: the Subject enrollment statuses used by the institution must already be configured before they can be selected here.

- Related settings: Default change reason for stopping/changing services (Default_Change_Reason_For_Activity_Changes in Services Parameters > Basic Settings)
K-12 vs Higher Education: This setting behaves the same regardless of whether the institution is configured for K-12 or Higher Education.
Related configuration: _Subject_ Status (Main Settings > Dropdown Lists > Students > Subject Status) – manages the list of _Subject_ enrollment statuses offered here, used to determine which enrollment status triggers automatic Service enrollment.
