What This Setting Does
This setting sets the date after which Students can no longer self-select their Educational Program Category/Specialization through the portal for the current selection period.
Where It Is Used
Portal Home page: the same announcement banner used for the start date disappears automatically once this end date has passed. There is no separate settings screen for this beyond this settings tab.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This setting works together with the start date setting to define the self-selection window.
- On and before this end date, eligible Students can still see the selection banner and choose their Category/Specialization.
- After this end date, the banner is no longer shown and self-selection of the Category/Specialization closes for that period.
- If no custom announcement text is configured, Classter shows a default message to eligible Students during the window that quotes this end date.
Example(s)
Alpha Institute sets this end date to 2026-03-31, one month after the start date. Throughout March, Students including Anna K. can use the portal banner to select their Educational Program Category/Specialization. From April 1, the banner disappears automatically, and any student who has not made a selection needs the school office to complete it manually.
When to Use
Set an end date that gives Students a clear, bounded window to make their selection, while leaving enough time afterward for the institution to process the choices before the next _Grade_ or specialization begins.

Prerequisites: Educational Program Categories must be enabled, and a start date should also be configured.
