Academic Progress Form Hide Comparison Graphs

Updated on July 10, 2026

2 min to read

Overview

Display Label: _Student_’s Academic Progress Form: Hide Comparison Graphs

Setting ID: Academic_Progress_Form_Hide_Comparison_Graphs

Location: Main Settings > General Settings > Teachers Portal Rights, Basic Settings group

What This Setting Does

This setting controls whether mark comparison graphs are hidden from _Teachers_ viewing a _Student_’s Academic Progress Form. These graphs plot a _Student_’s marks across marking periods so a _Teacher_ can visually track progress over time. When this setting is enabled, _Teachers_ viewing the form see only the mark tables and other enabled functions, without the comparison charts.

Where It Is Used

My Classes > select a _Group_ > Statistics tab, which opens the _Student_ Academic Progress Form used to review an individual _Student_’s progress.

Business Logic / Behavior

  • Disabled by default, meaning comparison graphs are shown to Teachers.
  • When enabled, the mark comparison graphs per marking period are removed from the Teacher’s view of the Student Academic Progress Form.
  • Other information on the form, such as mark tables and any functions enabled through the Academic Progress view function selector, is not affected.
  • Only affects the Teacher’s view of the form; it does not change what Parents or Students see on their own Academic Progress Form.

Example

At Alpha Institute, _Teacher_ Daniel O. normally sees a chart comparing _Student_ Amara W.’s average mark over the last four marking periods against the class average. After the administrator enables Hide Comparison Graphs, Daniel’s view of Amara’s Academic Progress Form shows only the mark tables, and the chart no longer appears.

When to Use

When to Enable

Enable to simplify the Academic Progress Form for _Teachers_ who do not need a graphical comparison, or to reduce the amount of information shown to teaching staff.

When to Disable

Disable, the default, to give _Teachers_ a visual, at-a-glance comparison of a _Student_’s mark trend over time.
