What happens when I invalidate a signed document?

Updated on October 14, 2025

< 1 min to read

  • The signature command is flagged as Invalid/Obsolete (IsInvalid = True).
  • Any user attempting to access the invalidated signature page will see the message:

“You are not allowed to sign the document. This request has been deprecated.”

  • The system removes any available actions, such as signing or resending.
  • If the signature request was sent via DocuSign or LegalSign, Classter sends a cancellation/archival request to that service.

How are invalid requests displayed in the system?

  • A new “Invalidated” column appears in both the Case List and Signature Commands List.
  • If at least one command in a case is invalid, the entire case is flagged as invalid.
  • You can filter signature requests by Invalid Requests → All | Yes | No.
