In this section, you can manage the online accounts of the different types of users you have created (Figure 284). This is also seen as User Accounts in some institutes.
Note: Refer to the Online Accounts Manual for a comprehensive guide on working with the online/user accounts module.

Actions
You can apply an action to a selected user (Figure 287).
Figure 287
Click on the ‘Actions’ button of the selected account to manage the account. You can:
- ‘Manage Role/Periods’ – for users to have access to an academic period on the portal, they need a role. Select a period > Add Period, Select a role. Tip: Keep in mind that login issues are often related to users not having roles in a specific academic period. So, if you get questions regarding login trouble check this out.
- ‘Activate/Deactivate Account’ – you can deactivate the account so that the user is not available.
- ‘Add/Edit Username’ – you can add or edit the user’s account username e.g., mattard@beta.classter.com.
- ‘Add/Edit e-mail’ – you can change the recorded external provider email.
- ‘Convert to External Provider Email Account’ – use this to convert a user account to an external provider account e.g., to an Office 365 account.
Note: You need to have an integration setup between Classter and an External Provider e.g., Office 365. Tip: this action needs to be taken when you have just integrated with the external provider. The reason is the integration will not switch existing users from a Classter account to an external provider account automatically. Only new users are created with external provider accounts.
- ‘Sync External Provider/Moodle data’ – use this to sync the user’s external provider and Moodle data.
- ‘Assigned Teams’ – you can use this to view the user’s assigned Microsoft Teams groupings.
Note: MS Teams integration is required.
- ‘Print User Information’ – you can see and/or print the user credentials and login instructions for web portal.
Bulk Actions
You can apply an action from the ones explained in the previous section to several selected users (Figure 288).
Figure 288
- ‘Add/Edit Role’ – you can add/edit the roles for all the selected users for the current academic period. Tip: Roles define the rights a user has on the Classter platform. Make sure the users are assigned the proper roles so that they do not have access to Modules/Menus they should not.
- ‘Enable Accounts’ – you can enable the account of the selected users
- ‘Disable Accounts’ – you can disable the account of the selected users
- ‘Disable from Academic Period’ – you can disable the account of the selected users from the current academic period
- ‘Sync External Provider/Moodle data’ – use this to sync the external provider and Moodle data for multiple users.
- ‘Convert to External Provider Email Account’ – use this to convert the user account of multiple users to external provider accounts e.g., to an Office 365 account.
- ‘Send Initial Invitation’ – you can send initial invitation with user credentials and login instructions for web portal to the selected users. Note: the email template sent is created by the admin or uses the default Classter email template.
- ‘SMS Initial User Credentials’ – you can send the initial user credentials as an SMS to multiple users.
Note: SMS integration with SMS provider required. It is setup by the admin so if your SMS initial user credentials do not reach users, contact your admin to make sure SMS are connected and your institution has enough credits.
Advanced Filters
Use the Advanced Filters to filter using the login status or pending changes and to show deleted accounts.

General Tip: The Online Accounts page can be used to find the users username and first passwords, so if for some reason your email integration is not functioning you can send the user an email from your account with the users’ credentials. This is not an official method of solving an issue like this, but it is good to know if you are in a pinch.
