Visibility Rules
For a Homework to be visible to Students/Parents, one or more of the following conditions must be met:
Either Setting 1 enabled
Either:
- The below setting is enabled
Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Allow Staff/Teachers to Enter/Modify publish time
So, the staff or teachers can set the Publish Date of each homework, during creation.
Note! Even if the homework is not approved, it will still be published at the Publish Date.
If the homework is Approved, it will be published during approval, as explained in case 4.
Or Setting 2 enabled
Or:
- The below setting is enabled
Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Set the time (institute time) for automated publication of Homework to parents/Student
So, all saved homework will be published at this time every day, no matter the date of the homework or if the homework status is not “Approved”.
Note! Even if the homework is not approved it will still be published at the time of the setting.
If the homework is Approved, it will be published during approval, as explained in case 4.
Or Settings 1 & 2 enabled
Or:
- Both settings explained above are enabled
(Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Allow Staff/Teachers to Enter/Modify publish time
Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Set the time (institute time) for automated publication of Homework to parents/Student)
The system will operate according to the settings, in the following order: first, setting 1; second, setting 2.
This means that the system will first expect the user to set the Publish Date and if not, it will automatically publish at the time from the second setting, as explained in cases 1 & 2 above (in both cases the homework will be published even it is not approved)..If the homework is Approved, it is published during the approval as explained in case 4 below.
Note! Please read the details of the settings above in cases 1 & 2.
Or the Homework is Approved
Or:
- Even if none of the settings explained above is enabled
- Or even if either or both settings are enabled
(Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Allow Staff/Teachers to Enter/Modify publish time
Main Settings > General Settings > Homework > Set the time (institute time) for automated publication of Homework to parents/Student)
If the “Approval” status of the Homework is Approved, this overwrites all and the homework is being published.
Approval status is configured as below:
Either with the “Auto-approval” at the Homework Scenario
Or with a manual Approval from the list of Homework.

How To publish (Visible)
To publish homework to Students/Parents, you must
either enable the setting Allow Staff/Teachers to Enter/Modify publish time (setting 1) and manually set the “Publish Date” of each homework during creation (even if the homework is not approved)
or enable the setting Set the time (institute time) for automated publication of Homework to parents/Student (setting 2) so all homework will automatically be published at the set time (even if the homework is not approved)
or no matter the above settings, the “Approval” status at the homework, to be Approved, which can be set at the Homework Scenario to be auto-approved to all, or by manually approving the homework entries in a bulk action from the list of homework.
*If both settings are enabled, the system will operate according to the written order (if none publish date is defined, then automatically publish according to setting 2)
How to avoid publishing (Not Visible)
To avoid publishing homework to Students/Parents, you must
disable the setting Allow Staff/Teachers to Enter/Modify publish time (setting 1)
or have it enabled but do not set a publish date for your homework
and disable the setting Set the time (institute time) for automated publication of Homework to parents/Student (setting 2), so no homework will be automatically published according to this
and keep your homework “Approval” status Not approved (the “Auto-approval” property at the Homework Scenario is disabled and your homework is not manually approved).
