How Do I Enable the Registry Category and where Is It Used?

Registry Category is a dynamic entity in Classter. It is an additional option under Educational Programs. The term Registry Category depends on the customizable terminology used by each institution. In some cases, it can be found as “Semesters”.

To enable Registry Category, from the configuration menu go to Main Settings > General Settings. (Figure 1)

In the next window, go to the Basic Customization tab, and click on Enable Registry Category. (Figure 2)

The Registry Category or Semesters can be used to further organize an educational program. This 4th optional element is connected to year, stream, and curriculum elements. Once you configure settings and enable the element, It should look like this (Figure 3):

Registry Category/ Semesters are connected to Curriculums here (Figure 5):

  • Registry Category/ Semesters is used when creating a curriculum structure for a specific educational program.

Registration Category/ Semesters are connected to Curriculums here (Figure 6):

Registry Categories/ Semesters segment the academic year for a specific program. A program may have 1 or more Semesters in which classes take place.
