How Can I Mass Assign Students to Classes and Subjects (K12 Schools)?

Updated on July 24, 2023
Table of contents

Mass actions are very important for admins as they’re time-saving. Imagine if you needed to assign each student manually to classes and subjects for each period.

Let’s see it in action.

If you are a brand-new user of Classter, we suggest you first read how to create and edit classes and how to create subjects and lists of subjects. It is also useful to view how to enroll subjects to classes.

There are two methods to mass assign students to classes and subjects. Both methods are fast and easy to use. Choose the method you find most convenient to you.

Method 1

Firstly, you need to be logged in to the platform as an Admin. From the main menu, go to Students→Student List. (Figure 1)

In this window, select the “Level” and “Year” from the dropdown lists, and then click on the “Search” button. (Figure 2)

From the list that appears, select the students you want to mass assign by clicking on them (Figure 3)

Tip: If you want to mass assign all students listed, you can select them all instantly by clicking on the button .

From the Actions menu, in the Mass Imports/Actions section, click on Enroll Groups-Subjects. (Figure 4)

In this window you may select a Group and Subjects to enrol the selected students. Once you are ready, click on the “Save” button.

Note: You can also enrol students to groups/subjects that are not part of the students registered educational program by switching ON the first switch in the window (Figure 5).

Method 2

For the second method, you need to be logged in as an Admin again. From the main menu, go to Enrollments→Enroll Students to Groups. (Figure 1)

In this window, select the “Group”, “Type” and “Status” from the dropdown lists, and then click on the “Search” button. (Figure 2)

Students’ enrolment to classes or subjects can be tricky. For further guidance, you may take a look at our manual.
