Alternative Subject Field 

Overview

We are introducing a new “Alternative Subject” field to enhance Subject and Curriculum functionalities. This field allows linking a standard school subject with a corresponding alternative. 

• Normal Subject: Represents the school’s standard subject. 

• Alternative Subject: Represents a ministry or equivalent subject. 

Key Features 

1. Subject Form: 

1. A new field, “Alternative Subject”, will be added. 
2. Users can select from a list of active subjects.

2. Curriculum Form: 

1. A similar field will allow selecting an alternative subject for each subject in the curriculum. 
2. When adding a subject to the curriculum, the Alternative Subject will auto-populate if available.

3. Bulk Action: 

1. A new bulk action option will allow users to set the existing subject as the alternative for newly created subjects. 
2. A new checkbox will allow users to automatically set selected existing subjects as alternatives when creating new subjects.
3. When copying a subject (creating duplicates), the Alternative Subject will be carried over to the new copies.
