Financial Settings / General Settings / Arrangements Parameters / Special Settings / Financial Arrangements for Book Charges: Do not include books already added in previous academic periods
In this setting you define whether books from a previous academic period will be charged to the student’s new academic period.
The setting must be configured in the destination period, i.e., if you do not want the student to charge the same book for the second time in the period 2022-2023 you must have it activated in the period 2022-2023.
Requirements:
- The course must have linked books, both in the current period and in the destination period
- The book must have a price
- There must be a book charge type service that belongs to a category that has “Book Invoicing option” enabled, both in the current period and in the destination period
- The student must be enrolled in the book charging service, both in the current period and in the destination period
Note: You can set in the book charge service a price which could be a general charge for all books, this amount will be added to the final charge of the book.
Example
Student Mark Grixti has the “Dare to Dream “book in the period 2021-2022 as shown in Figures 1 and 2
Figure 1
Figure 2
The total charge for the selected books is €24.90, in detail (5.00 general charge for the use of books and 19.90 for “Dare to Dream” book), as shown in Figure 3
Figure 3
Setting -> Active
In period 2022-2023
The total charge for the selected books is only €5.00 because the price of the book “Dare to Dream” is not included in the price because it has been charged in the period 2021-2022, as shown in Figure 4
Figure 4
Setting -> Inactive
The book is charged for the second time, as shown in Figure 5
