Overview
This setting (Allagi_Arithmisis_Mathitologiou_Otan_Allazei_H_Periodos) is located in Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration, under the Educational Program Registration Numbering group.
What This Setting Does
This setting controls what happens to a _Student_’s Registration Number when the _Student_ is transferred from one Academic Period to the next. If enabled, the _Student_ receives a new Registration Number for the new period. If disabled, the _Student_ keeps the same Registration Number they had before the transfer.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated screen of its own; it is applied automatically by Classter whenever a _Student_’s educational program is transferred to a new Academic Period, and the result is reflected in the Registration Number field on Main Menu > Students > Students List > Manage > Add/Edit Student > Educational Program tab.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is an on/off checkbox setting. The default value is disabled (False).
- When enabled, every _Student_ transferred to a new Academic Period gets a newly calculated Registration Number for that period.
- When disabled (the default), a transferred _Student_ retains the Registration Number they already had.
- The format used for any newly generated Registration Number follows the automatic numbering rules configured elsewhere in this group, including Educational program Registration Number format (Auto Mode).
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, administrator Sofia enables this setting. Student Marco D. has Registration Number 2025-0087 in the 2025-2026 Academic Period. When Alpha Institute staff transfer him to the 2026-2027 Academic Period in September 2026, Classter automatically assigns him a new Registration Number, 2026-0032, instead of carrying forward 2025-0087. If the setting had been left disabled, Marco would have kept 2025-0087 in the new period.
When to Use
When to Enable
Enable this setting when the institution wants each Academic Period to have its own independent sequence of Registration Numbers, so a _Student_ moving to a new period is treated as a new registration for numbering purposes.
When to Disable
Disable this setting (the default) when the institution wants a _Student_’s Registration Number to stay the same for as long as the _Student_ remains enrolled, regardless of how many Academic Periods they are transferred through.
Notes
Prerequisite: none. This setting can be enabled independently, although the format of any newly generated number is controlled by the automatic numbering settings in this same group.
