Overview
This setting (Energopoiisi_Epilogis_Ipallilon_San_Ekpaideutikous_Simvoulous) is located in Main Settings > General Settings > Student Form Registration, under the Mentors Settings group.
What This Setting Does
This setting controls who can appear in the Mentor dropdown list on the _Student_ form. By default, only _Teachers_ appear in that list. Enabling this setting extends the list to also include employees, as long as they have been checked as a Mentor in their own personal record. A _Teacher_ or employee must be marked as an active Mentor in their personal form in order to be included in the list either way.
Where It Is Used
This setting has no dedicated screen of its own in the Portal; it is applied automatically wherever Classter builds the list of eligible Mentors, which then appears as the Mentor dropdown on the _Student_’s form.
Business Logic / Behavior
- This is an on/off checkbox setting. The default value is disabled (False).
- When disabled (the default), only _Teachers_ marked as an active Mentor appear in the Mentor dropdown on the _Student_ form.
- When enabled, both _Teachers_ and employees marked as an active Mentor appear in the Mentor dropdown.
- Regardless of this setting, a person must be checked as an active Mentor in their own personal record to be eligible for the list at all.
Example(s)
At Alpha Institute, front-office employee Nadia P. has been marked as an active Mentor in her personal record, alongside several _Teachers_. Administrator Carlos leaves this setting disabled (the default). When staff open the Mentor dropdown on a _Student_’s form, Nadia does not appear, only the eligible _Teachers_ do. When Carlos enables this setting, Nadia now appears in the same dropdown alongside the eligible _Teachers_, and can be selected as a _Student_’s Mentor.
When to Use
When to Enable
Enable this setting when the institution wants non-teaching employees, such as counselors or administrative staff, to be eligible to be selected as a _Student_’s Mentor, in addition to _Teachers_.
When to Disable
Disable this setting (the default) when the institution wants only _Teachers_ to be selectable as Mentors.
Notes
Prerequisite: a person must be checked as an active Mentor in their personal record to appear in the dropdown, whether they are a _Teacher_ or an employee.

K-12 vs Higher Education: this setting behaves the same regardless of whether Higher Education Mode (Enable Configuration for Higher Education/Xrisi_parametropoihshs_kolegiou) is enabled or disabled.
